Working with SoftCode Tables
SoftCode Control Tables
There are two tables key to the soft code operations, the category table and the authority level table. Additional tables may be defined as required, as the number of tables defined is not limited

Category Table
These text descriptions and abbreviations may be changed without any impact on soft code functions. Deleting category codes may lead to a problem with any program that has been assigned that specific category. Adding category codes is not an issue and as many category entries as necessary for application development may be created.

Authorization Level Table
Authority levels are defined by this table. The authority level text description and abbreviation may be changed at any time without any impact on the operation of the SoftCode function editor. However removing code entries or adding entries may effect the functions and/or options applications present to the various users.

The effective date is tested by the security function. The effective date is generally considered to be the date the profile was entered into the table. The expiration date is used to disable the profile--without deleting the record from the table.
